Back online

After receiving the following message and not backup some configuration data we are back online again!

We regret to inform you of some significant developments that directly impact our services to you. Our upstream provider, Dedipath, has made the unfortunate decision to shut down their operations effective August 31, 2023. This unexpected announcement has given us very little time to adapt and ensure the continuity of our services to you.

You can find a detailed discussion on this matter in the following thread: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/188358/dedipath-closure-of-business. We share your disappointment and frustration regarding this situation, but we want to assure you that we are committed to minimizing any disruption to your services.

Taking immediate action, we have reached out to Opencolo Santa Clara Data Center and successfully arranged for the colocation of our services with them. However, due to logistical constraints, there might be a slight delay in migrating our hardware to the new data center. Our estimated timeline suggests that our hardware will be up and running at the new location by Monday/Tuesday.

To ensure the stability of your services during this transitional period, we have also engaged with upstream provider, INAP. They will be temporarily supporting our hardware, keeping it online for at least one week while we finalize the data migration process. Rest assured, we are taking all necessary precautions to safeguard your data and maintain the integrity of your services.

As an additional safety measure, we strongly recommend that you initiate a backup of your critical data. While we are doing everything in our power to ensure a seamless transition, having your own backup will provide an extra layer of security for your valuable information.

We understand the importance of this situation and are fully committed to providing you with continuous service and support. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.
Thank you for your trust in us, and we look forward to delivering a smoother experience once our services are fully migrated to the new data center.

No real data is loss, but we was surprised about the fast shutdown.

Huge abuse wave

Currently we got massive uploads which violates against our ToS and make it hard to keep the site online. We’re cleaning some things and disable uploading new images for now.

Sorry!

What happens to abuse mails?

The daily amount of received abuse messages is getting bigger. We do not reply to them, but we check every single submitted URL and every case gets an own decision. Almost 95% of reported images are getting deleted within 24 hours. We offer privacy, but we still have a zero tolerance policy against images, which violates against our rules.

Cheers.

New Blog features added

Hi!

On the right site of the blog you can now see the live status of the c0mpic image-hosting service. A green arrow for everything is up and a red cross, if the service is down.

I also updated the “Looking Glass” page – there might be some interesting informations for you 🙂

Btw. on this blog we provide similar privacy settings for you. The access log of the web-server is disabled for this domain and if you post a comment, we do not log your IP address, mail address or User-agent. It is not required to enter an username or mail address for posting comments here.

Have a nice day!

Hello world!

Welcome to the official c0mpic.com Blog.

This project started at February 2009 and is still active, so why not creating a blog to give you more information’s about the site? The main focus is still on easy, fast and anonymous image hosting. At the same time we have a zero tolerance policy against images, which violates against our rules.

Currently I’m working on a V2 of c0mpic, which was already announced 7 years ago – its nothing which has to be done as soon as possible, because the old hosting script is still working good, but its a nice to have 🙂 I think I’ll share some features here.

Since we had several downtime’s in the past, I’ll also keep you updated here about new announcements, features or (additional) downtime’s.
